Overlooking Lake Fontana, the 4 trails range from the 5.3-mile Mouse Branch Loop Trail, to the 11.9-mile long Left Loop Trail.

Hiking

The same trails used for biking and horseback riding are open at all times for hiking. Trail lengths start with the 5.3-mile Mouse Branch Loop Trail, and then increase in distance to the Thompson Loop Trail at 7.4 miles and Right Loop & Left Loop Trails at 11 miles each. In addition, there are multiple hiking trails in the surrounding area such as the Goldmine Loop (3 miles), Deep Creep Loop (4 miles) and Martin’s Gap Loop (12 miles).

The Tsali Recreation Area is bordered by Lake Fontana which offers miles of beautiful coves and open water for canoing and kayaking. I am planning to spend as much time kayaking the Nanny as Hiking, so if anyone else wants to bring their kayak, we can ride together. Also, anyone can rent a kayak from the NOC if they don’t have one.

The folks from the NOC have posted the gas situation is bad there and if you come make sure you have enough gas to get home as you may not be able to get any there. Or here. Good luck!!
