Who is Team Green?
Team Green Adventures was established by Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) in 1996 as a way to get our listeners involved in an active lifestyle. Richland Creek Run
Details
When
Saturday, April 5th
The second-annual Richland Creek Run presented by Dunn Chiropractic Clinic, a 5-mile timed and measured race, is scheduled
for April 5, 2008, at 8:00 a.m. The course winds through the Richland
Creek Greenway and Sylvan Park neighborhood. This year’s course will
encompass even more of the greenway than last year.
Net proceeds from this event will benefit Greenways for Nashville, a
not-for-profit organization dedicated to the creation, protection,
preservation, and promotion of Nashville greenways. Last year, the race
raised more than $5,000 for Greenways for Nashville, and organizers
expect to top that number this year.
The race will begin and end outside of the Cohn Adult Learning Center,
4805 Park Avenue.
The title sponsor of the race is Dunn Chiropractic Clinic. Saint Thomas
Hospital, The Wilson Group, Montgomery Bell Academy and Vanderbilt
University are other primary sponsors. The event is being organized and
co-sponsored by the Sylvan Park, Cherokee Park, Richland-West End and
White Bridge Neighborhood Associations. The race’s media sponsors are
the Nashville Scene, Lightning 100, and Team Green. Other sponsors
include Hampton Inn Elliston Place, Sport Seasons, and several local
businesses in the area.
The Richland Creek Run is one of the few 5-mile events in the Middle
Tennessee area. The run will be an excellent pre-Country Music Marathon
training event.
Participants can register in advance online at www.active.com or by
completing and mailing a registration form downloaded from
www.richlandcreekrun.com. Pre-registration is $20 and race-day
registration is $25. Long-sleeve T-shirts are guaranteed to all
pre-registered participants. These t-shirts will again feature the
distinctive Hatch Show Print logo.
The Richland Creek Greenway’s first segment opened to the public in the
fall of 2005. Refurbishment of the old White Bridge is underway and,
upon completion later in 2008, will connect the Greenway to more
businesses and neighborhoods. The 2.6 mile Richland Creek Greenway
provides a scenic, natural experience in the midst of a bustling
community.
