Who is Team Green?

Team Green Adventures was established by Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) in 1996 as a way to get our listeners involved in an active lifestyle. Since then, our audience has expanded to other cities and states, with members across the Nation and events across the Globe! Through adventure we promote health, community service, and environmental awareness. Check out our calendar and pick the adventure that’s right for you!

PICKETT STATE PARK WEEKEND GETAWAY

Details

When

Friday, September 12th to Sunday, September 14th

Situated in a remote section of the upper Cumberland Mountains, the 17,372-acre Pickett State Park and Forest possess a combination of scenic, botanical and geological wonders found nowhere else in Tennessee. Of particular interest are the uncommon rock formations, natural bridges, numerous caves and remains of ancient Indian occupation. Some say Pickett is second only to the Great Smoky Mountains in botanical diversity. The park is adjacent to the massive Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, with more than 100,000 acres of prime wilderness country.

Team Green will stay at the group camp. The group camp consists of camper cabins, bathhouse, kitchen and dining lodge. Campers need only provide linens or sleeping bag and pillow, medical and sanitary supplies and staff. The camp will accommodate up to 144 persons but we will limit our trip to 50.

Activities

For activities, we will have two options for day hikes Saturday: a longer and a shorter. Distances are TBD.

Please note that all participants are asked to chip in to cook and clean as part of traveling with us. We will share cooking for 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner (Friday dinner is on your own). Plus we will take time after breakfast Sunday to clean to cabins, as it is required per us staying there.

Reservations

This trip is open to Green Card Members at $35 and non-members at $50. Price increases September 1st to Member- $45 and non-member $60.

TRIP IS CLOSED!

The music festival posting was a misprint; it was from last year and Mucklewain is not happening this year in that area of the state.
