Who is Team Green?

Team Green Adventures was established by Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) in 1996 as a way to get our listeners involved in an active lifestyle. Since then, our audience has expanded to other cities and states, with members across the Nation and events across the Globe! Through adventure we promote health, community service, and environmental awareness. Check out our calendar and pick the adventure that’s right for you!

Percy Priest Lake Canoe-to-Camp Trip

Details

When

Saturday April 19-20th

DETAILS: This is an exciting local trip! We’ll be meeting at Anderson Rd Park on Saturday morning to load up the canoes, departing shoreline at 9am. We’ll paddle across Percy Priest lake about 30-40 minutes to the remote island we’ll be camping on, where we can drop off gear and begin to set up camp. Participants can enjoy many activities including canoeing around and hiking/exploring the many islands, great fishing, or just hanging out with friends. There will be other group activities through the day, then a dinner and a really cool campfire-lighting display, and some campfire fun! Marshmallows & music included! We’ll return on Sunday afternoon.

LOGISTICS:

We’ll meet in the parking lot of the Anderson Road Recreation area at 9am sharp! We’ll have a limited number of canoes for use, so if you own one, please bring it! You’ll also need general camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, water, food) but we can all share stoves, etc.

This trip limited to 20 people

  2. Donna | Mar 7, 08:48 PM

    Hello! Are dogs welcomed?

  3. Mike P | Mar 14, 08:24 AM

Hello! Friendly dogs are welcome on this trip, they must be on a leash until we get onto the water/islands.
And yes this trip is for members only, sorry! Please sign up and become a member to enjoy all the benefits and more great trips like this! Hope to see you soon!

How much does this trip cost?

  5. Nerissa | Mar 18, 10:39 AM

Is it possible to join later in the afternoon on Saturday, like around 4pm? Earth Day celebrations at Centennial is kind of a big deal for me and my son but I would be free after 3pm. This trip on the lake sounds really fun!

  6. Mike P | Mar 19, 11:51 AM

The trip is free if you own a canoe, or will be sharing with someone. Since this trip is filling up quickly with people who do not have a canoe, I am arranging to have several rented for the weekend. The cost for a rental would be around $20. Please email me if you need exact cost (will have shortly).
Nerissa I am sure someone will paddle back to shore to pick you up, we’d love to have you join in!

Is the trip full yet? We have our own kayaks and can carry our gear on them.

  8. Becca | Apr 6, 04:44 PM

Hi, this sounds like fun. I was wondering if young children are allowed and if my child would need the membership too? Thanks.

  9. Stephanie | Apr 7, 10:59 AM

    Becca,
We do not have memberships for children. On children friendly events we ask that the legal parent or guardian be present and you must sign a separate waiver for each child you bring. As far as this particular event Mike will have to answer as to whether children are welcome.

  10. Mike P | Apr 8, 09:35 PM

Becca, There are no membership fees for children. And yes children are welcome on this trip, just be sure to sign them up with you for the event (we have a specific head count for boats).

  11. MIKE P | Apr 15, 07:31 PM
