Team Green Adventures was established by Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) in 1996 as a way to get our listeners involved in an active lifestyle. Since then, our audience has expanded to other cities and states, with members across the Nation and events across the Globe! Through adventure we promote health, community service, and environmental awareness. Check out our calendar and pick the adventure that’s right for you!

Join Team Green on our second trek across the world to Kiwi land for two weeks of awesome adventure on ACTIVE NEW ZEALAND’S RIMU trek. This trip is for green card members only.
The RIMU is the most action-packed trip, well off the beaten path in interesting places that we have discovered over the years and the RIMU was rated one of the 25 greatest adventure trips in the world by National Geographic Adventure magazine! Enjoy awesome and challenging day hikes seeing the wilder parts of the South Island, bike the Eglinton Valley, and sea kayak Okarito Lagoon & Milford Sound, as well as choosing from a 3-day backpacking trip in Nelson Lakes, sea kayaking in Queen Charlotte Sound, or biking on Queen Charlotte track. It’s a multi-activity trip, with plenty of options to suit your fancy! ACTIVE NZ maintains plenty of options so they can make sure the trip works for everyone and they have two guides to take good care of you.
Accomodations
These vary… for over half the trip we stay in accommodations of very comfortable standards (B&Bs, lodges, etc.) and for the rest of the trip they have chosen more rustic accommodations in order to be in the most beautiful, isolated and off-the-beaten-track places in New Zealand. The RIMU is simply an awesome trip.
We currently have the RIMU trek available- departing from Queenstown and returning to Queenstown.
We will have pre-expedition gatherings and conditioning trips to ensure that you enjoy the trek’s challenges to the fullest. Round trip airfare from LAX To Queenstown is around $1100- $1300 depending on taxes and if you register before December, you can take advantage of our special group rate.
Trip Price
$2399 per person + tax (US Dollars)
Includes all accommodations, land transportation, gear, guides, and most meals. Does not include tips or airfare. Look at attached itineraries for more details.
Deposit
The deposit of $500 is due now to reserve your spot. The full payment will be due 90 days prior to departure. When you reserve your spot, ACTIVE NZ will fill you in on what is refundable and what is not refundable as well as optional trip insurance.
