Who is Team Green?

Team Green Adventures was established by Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) in 1996 as a way to get our listeners involved in an active lifestyle. Since then, our audience has expanded to other cities and states, with members across the Nation and events across the Globe! Through adventure we promote health, community service, and environmental awareness. Check out our calendar and pick the adventure that’s right for you!

About Live On the Green

LiveOntheGreen is a free concert series to be held every Thursday evening between September 3rd and October 8th in Public Square Plaza adjacent to the Nashville’s Metropolitan Courthouse. This event will highlight local artists as well as national acts with roots in Music City. The music will appeal to a large cross section of our community and will represent some of the best talent that our city and country have to offer.

The backdrop for LiveOntheGreen is Nashville’s historic Courthouse. The venue houses one of Nashville’s only green roofs, calling attention to one of our city prized green features. The green roof is a state of the art structure, which sits on top of a five level subterranean parking garage and incorporates a rainwater collection system used to irrigate the green roof throughout the year. LiveOntheGreen will incorporate a number of environmental conservation practices including: recycling, composting, reusable materials, healthy food vendors, and organic merchandising. We are working hard to ensure that the concert series has a low carbon footprint, so while we celebrate our music, we’ll also be celebrating our planet.

LiveOntheGreen is partnering with Mayor Karl Dean’s Office and Metro Nashville to enhance the relationships between the music industry, Metro government and our community. Because of this strong partnership and the central location, LiveOntheGreen will be a high profile celebration attracting Music City’s dedicated music fans. Music is a key component of Nashville’s identity and LiveOntheGreen will spotlight some of Nashville’s best musical talent.

As Tennessee’s Outdoor Leaders, Lightning 100’s Team Green will be responsible for incorporating eco-friendly practices and sustainable choices into Live On the Green. Because Team Green’s goal is to connect the Nashville community with the outdoors, Team Green’s leadership of Live On the Green will incorporate many aspects of sustainability including reducing waste, recycling, re-using materials, reducing energy, engaging participants with green initiatives, highlighting local, healthy food, all at downtown Nashville’s masterpiece, our Courthouse, in an outdoor celebration.

Engage Green

Team Green and Cool People Care have partnered together to bring back Engage Green, a hands on interactive workshop to teach the Nashville Community simple ways to make your lives greener (…that includes saving some dollar green as well!). Stop by the Team Green booth during the event to write down a “Green Tip.” Green tips will be read over the Air on Lightning 100 each week. Also register for the Engage Green Newsletter for your chance to win a select prize. Prizes will be rewarded at the following Engage Green workshop (October 6th). Winners must be present at the workshop to win!
