Who is Team Green?

Team Green Adventures was established by Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) in 1996 as a way to get our listeners involved in an active lifestyle. Since then, our audience has expanded to other cities and states, with members across the Nation and events across the Globe! Through adventure we promote health, community service, and environmental awareness. Check out our calendar and pick the adventure that’s right for you!

Holiday Blood Drive 2011

Details

When

Friday, December 9th from 7am-3pm

This holiday season give a gift that goes beyond monetary value. Lightning 100 and Team Green Adventures are proud to sponsor our very own Holiday Blood Donation Day at the American Red Cross donation center off Charlotte Pike. Whether you’re a regular donor or a first timer, take that step forward to give a perfect stranger the perfect gift of life! Our goal this season is to have 100 presenting donors show up on our donation day! Not all presenting donors will be able to donate (low iron levels, foreign travel, health risks, etc), but all presenting donors will be counted towards our total, all are eligible to register for our giveaways, and each presenting donor will receive a holiday themed long sleeve shirt!

When: Friday, December 9th from 7am-3pm
Where: American Red Cross Donation Center
2201 Charlotte Pike
Cost: FREE! and open to the public. Register Online for a popular time slot. Walk ins welcome!

Difficulty: It’s easy to make a difference. “Stubbing your toe hurts more than a needle prick.”

Children Policy: 17 and up, 16 year olds may donate with consent from a parent

WHY DONATE?

Blood donations tend to dip below the normal level due to busy holiday schedules
Blood has a shelf life of 42 days, so new blood donations are in constant need
It only takes an hour to donate (that includes wait time, consultation, and donation time)
800 donors are needed per day in Nashville to meet the needs
Blood takes 3 days to be tested and packaged, so waiting until an emergency is too late
You can donate every 56 days
You save 3 lives per unit of blood that you donate
Blood platelets are used for cancer patients going through chemo
