Who is Team Green?

Team Green Adventures was established by Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) in 1996 as a way to get our listeners involved in an active lifestyle. Since then, our audience has expanded to other cities and states, with members across the Nation and events across the Globe! Through adventure we promote health, community service, and environmental awareness. Check out our calendar and pick the adventure that’s right for you!

Habitat Greening Project

Details

When

Saturday, Nov 10 - Sunday, Nov 11

Please come help Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity, Nashville Civic Design Center, and the Tennessee Environmental Council sink new roots in Providence Park! 100 new trees will be planted in the largest all-Habitat neighborhood in the United States, Providence Park. (Located right here in Southeast Nashville!)

This is an official event site celebrating NeighborWoods Month, made possible by the Alliance for Community Trees and The Home Depot Foundation.

Trees planted from this project will improve the aesthetics for our local Habitat neighborhood, help with noise abatement, prevent erosion, provide shade and energy savings, and improve our local air quality. If you want to learn to plant trees the same way professional
arborists do, here’s your chance!

Community tree planting will take place:

  • Saturday, 3 November 8:00 AM—12:00 N
  • Sunday, 4 November 8:00 AM—12:00 N
  • Saturday, 10 November 8:00 AM—12:00 N
  • Sunday, 11 November 8:00 AM—12:00 N

Please plan to arrive by 7:45 AM for individual team assignments. Each team will plant two trees.

If you are interested and want to volunteer in this tree planting event at Providence Park, please contact: Mike Allen, Volunteer Director, NAHFH
Phone: (615) 254-4663, ext. 224. Or, register by email to mallen@habitatnashville.org

Please include the following information: name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, and date(s) you wish to volunteer. We will follow up with you to confirm your volunteer position and provide you with driving directions to Providence Park. (The suggested age limit is 14 years of age or older. Please call if you have any questions.)

Thanks again for your interest in helping plant new trees at the Providence Park neighborhood. We look forward to seeing you in early November!
Dress is “yard work casual.” Water and snacks provided.
