Who is Team Green?
Team Green Adventures was established by Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) in 1996 as a way to get our listeners involved in an active lifestyle. Day Hike to Scott's Gulf
Details
When
Sunday, March 30th
Team Green is partnering with the Nashville Hiking Meetup for a day hike to Scott’s Gulf for a 8-10 mile hike, a 10,000-acre gift to the citizens of Tennessee from Bridgestone/Firestone. Called “The Grand Canyon of the Cumberland’s” by an early 19th Century traveler, the area is entrusted to the Tennessee Wildlife Management Agency (TWRA) as a Wildlife Management Area and is recognized as a natural treasure for its uniqueness and diversity. The 26 miles of moderate to difficult trails feature rolling hills, waterfalls, deep gorges, rocky hillsides, wildflowers, oak, hickory and pine forest, creeks, and river pools. What to Bring
Bring gas money for your driver, lunch, water, snacks, layered clothing matched for the weather, a change of clothes for the ride home if preferred and your camera! More hiking route details to come, but we’ll plan on an 8 to 10 mile trek. Your dog on a leash is welcomed. If you own hiking poles, bring them.
Plan on crossing several creeks during the hike so be sure to wear water resistant hiking boots/shoes. Warning: you may get wet! It’s important that you have good balance as we will hike across slick rocks in these creeks.
Reservation Details
The Hiking Meet-Up group is the leader of this hike. Team Greeners need to sign up for the Hiking Meetup Group (free!) in order to RSVP for this trip at REGISTER HERE. If you have any questions, please contact hike leader Kelly Stewart
