Who is Team Green?
Team Green Adventures was established by Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) in 1996 as a way to get our listeners involved in an active lifestyle. Since then, our audience has expanded to other cities and states, with members across the Nation and events across the Globe! Through adventure we promote health, community service, and environmental awareness. Check out our calendar and pick the adventure that’s right for you!

About Charit Creek Lodge
Charit Creek lodge is peacefully located near the Twin Arches formations at Big South Fork, and is only accessible by horseback or foot. Located where Charit Creek and Station Camp Creek meet, the lodge rests in a beautiful pasture framed by magnificent bluffs. This valley has given shelter to travelers in the Big South Fork since the Indian hunting camps. Operated as a youth hostel from 1987 until mid 1989, management of the Charit Creek property was awarded to the operators of LeConte Lodge, a renowned wilderness accommodation in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Lodging facilities include showers, restrooms, dining hall, social space, large front porch, and hose stables.
Logistics
Team Green will carpool Saturday morning to the trailhead and hike in, arriving just in time for lunch at the lodge. We will hike Saturday afternoon, enjoy a true country dinner, sit back in the front porch rocker and see a sky full of stars, listen to the stream, and watch the firefly displays; no hum of machinery or bright electric lights to interfere. Sunday morning we will awake to birds on the brink of Spring and the smell of fresh coffee on the stove. We will then hike after breakfast and head back to Nashville, arriving late afternoon.
Yoga Option
Leah Lillois, owner and instructor of Kali Yuga Yoga will be joining Team Green on this event and offering a free intro to Yoga session before or after our Sunday morning hikes. Yoga offers great opportunities to stretch and relax before or after any physical activity.
If you’re interested in Yoga, join Team Green for Beginner Yoga with Kali Yuga Yoga every Wednesday through the end of April.

What does our $90 cover? I saw on their website a rate of $66 for what appears to be the exact itinerary TG is leading (based on minimum of 6 adults).
Narissa,
We booked 2 cabins (24 beds) so the price includes having the cabins all to ourselves, administrative costs for us to post the event on our website, and to lead the hiking events during the days. This is one event that we could not negotiate a lower price for, and therefore we have to charge a little extra than they charge in order to offer the security and leadership that we promise out of all Team Green events. The price on the Charit Creek Lodge site only includes the beds and meals, no planned activities.
I hope this helps.
Keeley
How far is the hike in from the trail head? Is it truly a beginner friendly hike? Thanks!
where do we carpool from and when do we leave?what do we need to bring?this would be my first team green trek and not sure if i need a pack or other supplies
Will horseback riding be an option? I would be very interested in a horse back riding excursion sometime.
Kay,
Not for this event, but we are happy to look into a similar event with Horseback riding.
What time will the carpool leave on Saturday morning and is there a spot chosen yet?
Carpool location, meeting time, and driving directions are included in the confirmation email sent immediately after you register. We will meet at 7am on Saturday. I will be the trip leader for this event and will also email a reminder with driving directions, packing suggestions and the like closer to the event date. I hope you’re able to attend!!
