Who is Team Green?
Team Green Adventures was established by Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) in 1996 as a way to get our listeners involved in an active lifestyle. Since then, our audience has expanded to other cities and states, with members across the Nation and events across the Globe! Through adventure we promote health, community service, and environmental awareness. Check out our calendar and pick the adventure that’s right for you!

BUFFALO CANOE FLOAT
Details
When
Saturday, September 20
Ride the Buffalo (…Buffalo River that is) in a canoe! We will head out to one of the loveliest rivers in Tennessee, less than 2 hours away from Nashville. We’ll paddle the entire day on a relaxing yet exciting canoe float- sponsored by Buffalo Trace- Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Throughout the float we’ll do our part to keep Buffalo River beautiful by picking up trash along the shoreline. This event opens on September 1st, 2008. If you bring your own canoe or kayak, you can float for free.
As Team Green members and participants, let’s not forget the importance of being green, keeping our wilderness playground beautiful and having fun doing it. During the float we will be doing our part to pick up trash along the river. Team Green will provide bags to all boaters. There will be top prizes to those who clean-up the most trash (by volume and weight):
1st place: Bottle of Buffalo Trace signature Bourbon!
2nd Place: Buffalo Trace T-shirt
3rd Place: Buffalo Trace swag
Crazy Horse Recreational Park
Crazy Horse Recreational Park offers over 1/2 mile of scenic bank on the Buffalo River for camping, canoeing, off-road riding, fishing, and many other outdoor activities. On-site shower houses, restrooms, picnic tables, and other convenient amenities are some of the ways we provide the best possible customer service on the Buffalo River.
We will be floating down Crazy Horse section of the Buffalo River. This section is a 10 mile float, so expect up to a 5 hour trip.
Remember to bring a bathing suit, change of clothes, food, snacks, and drinks in your own cooler.

If you choose to stay the night, be sure to email Team Green. Camping is Free.

This trip is open to everyone for $10 per person.

Can’t wait for this one! We’ll ride the Buffalo Creek and the Buffalo Trace.
Can we bring our own kayaks?
Is this a Team green event? How do we sign up?
This is a Team Green event and will be open for reservations on September 1st.
If anyone else is kayaking and would like to carpool, let me know … I can fit two kayaks up to 10’ in my truck.
Participants may bring their own kayaks and canoes. Please email teamgreen@wrlt.com if you will bring your own boat. Expect a shuttle fee of $15.
CORRECTION: Camping and shuttles will be free for Team Green. The only fee is the $10 to register if you do not bring your own boat. Please email teamgreen@wrlt.com if you plan on camping or will need to shuttle your own boat.
I am going to kayak.
Is there a caravan driving back Saturday night?
We do not have a caravan organized for Saturday evening at this time. We will send out an email the week of the event to coordinate everyone’s needs.
What are the ages allowed for the Buffalo Ride?
I’d also like to know ages allowed for ride as well as camping.
Once we sign up, will we receive meeting times, directions, etc?
Thanks.
Yes. I sent out an email yesterday to everyone that has signed up thusfar. I will send another email on friday to everyone. If you have signed up and would like a copy of the email, please contact me. If you are interested in organizing carpools (different than the group meeting time and location) and tent mates, please do so through this comment section. Thank you!
There is no age limit for this trip, though we suggest over 6 years old. Children must be accompanied by adults on the boats. You do not need to pay for children, but please send me an email so that I can keep track.
Just wondering if anybody is going up Fri. afternoon/evening for an extra night of camping? It looks like we are going to have awesome weather.
I have signed up but will not be requiring a canoe. Susan is loaning me one of hers!!
