Team Green Adventures was established by Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) in 1996 as a way to get our listeners involved in an active lifestyle. Since then, our audience has expanded to other cities and states, with members across the Nation and events across the Globe! Through adventure we promote health, community service, and environmental awareness. Check out our calendar and pick the adventure that’s right for you!

Did you know that all of the blood collected at Nashville Red Cross on Charlotte Pike goes back to the Tennessee Valley community with over 20% going to Vanderbilt Trauma Center? Support local and save a life with Team Green and Lightning 100 by donating blood.
When Friday, June 5th from 7am-6pm
Saturday, June 6th from 7am-2pm

Difficulty It’s easy to give!
Children Policy Refer to American Red Cross Guidelines. Donors must weigh more than 110 lbs.
Dog Policy Dogs are not permitted at this venue
About American Red Cross
Lightning 100’s Blood Drive theme is “And the Beat Goes On.” Every presenting donor receives a t-shirt, even if you are not able to donate for various reasons. Here are some important reasons to donate:
- Blood has a shelf life of 42 days, so blood is constantly needed
- It only takes 52 minutes to an hour to donate
- 800 donors are needed per day in Nashville to meet the needs
- Blood takes 3 days to be tested and packaged, so waiting until an emergency is too late
- People ages 72 and older have needed blood at least once in their life
- You can donate every 56 days
- Stubbing your toe hurts 20 times more than the needle
- You save 3 lives per unit of blood that you donate
- Blood platelets are used for cancer patients going through chemo
- You must be 17 or older to donate, 16 with parent consent in TN

All presenting blood donors will be eligible for a grand prize drawing – two tickets to Bonnaroo 2009, June 11 -14 in Manchester, Tenn.
You will also be eligible for hourly prize drawings which may include tickets to Green Day (July 31), Chris Issac (July 22) or The Dead Weather (July 30); a Blockbuster gift card; a Cumberland Transit gift certificate for a bicycle tune up, hat and t-shirt package; a Ruth’s Chris Steak House gift card; a Sambuca gift card; a Sam’s Sports Bar & Grill (Hillsboro Village) gift certificate; a Sports Seasons gift card; various music CD’s donated by Lightning 100 and one of two gasoline gift cards from the Red Cross. You will also enjoy free food both days.
