Trail Description
When we arrive at the trailhead, we will take 30 minutes to set up a shuttle at the Greeter Falls trailhead (directions will be provided). We will be accessing the trail from the Stone Door ranger station in Beersheba Springs, and will hike the 0.9 mile Stone Door trail, containing some of the best overlooks in the park. At the end, we descend down through the steep and stunning Stone Door. At the bottom of the gorge we will turn right and take the 4.0 mile Big Creek Gulf trail, with its rocky and challenging terrain. There is an optional, one mile spur trail along this section, to Ranger Falls. At the end, the Big Creek Gulf trail climbs gradually to the rim, where we will turn left onto the Greeter Falls trail. This trail leads 1.4 miles past two waterfalls and down to the bottom of Greeter, where we will swim in a wonderful plunge pool. After swimming, we’ll hike out on a 1/2 mile trail to our cars.
