Since then, our audience has expanded to other cities and states, with members across the Nation and events across the Globe! SUNDAY DAY HIKE: VIRGIN FALLS

Trip Posting
While at Rock Island, take a short drive to one of the most lovely falls in Tennessee to Virgin Falls. We will hike the full 8 miles or you can hike in as far as you can, rest at one of the smaller falls along the way then hike out with us. Those not going to Rock Island welcome too!
Information
The centerpiece of this magnificent hike is Virgin Falls, which is formed by an underground stream that emerges from a cave and drops over a 110-foot cliff before disappearing into a sink. There are several more stunning waterfalls and caves along the way to Virgin Falls. This is a spectacular hike in Spring, when the water is high. Where Virgin Falls (East Tennessee)
Cost FREE! for members and non-members
Difficulty This is a four-mile in-and-out hike for 8 miles total, and it is moderate to strenuous. Coming out is mostly uphill and both ways cover some very rough and rugged terrain. You are welcome to hike in half-way and rest at the nearby waterfalls and we can pick you up on the way out.
Children Policy Children 13 years and up who can handle the mileage and terrain.
Dog Policy Friendly dogs who have hiked 8 miles or more are allowed, but must be on a leash at all times.
Limit This trip is limited to 12 people.
Meeting Location
If you are Rock Island State Park, you can take just a short 40 minute drive to Virgin Falls trailhead. We will meet at the trailhead at aprox. 10am. Here are the directions:

If you are coming from Nashville, meet at 8am at the Hermitage Kroger off Old Hickory Blvd across from Summit Medical Center on the highway side of the parking lot, near Panera.
What time would we be expected to be back in Nashville? Is there room for three more?
